\u201cThe days are coming,\u201d declares the\nLord, \u201cwhen this city will be rebuilt for Me\u2026The whole valley where dead bodies\nand ashes are thrown, and all the terraces out to the Kidron Valley (near\nJerusalem) on the east as far as the corner of the Horse Gate, will be holy to\nthe Lord. The city will never again be uprooted or demolished.\u201d<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 In\nmany prophecies, the Lord God of Israel has promised to bring back His people,\nthe Jewish people, from the diaspora back to the Land of Promise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For\n2000 years, the Jews were scattered around the world, at the mercy of the\nnations, hated, despised and persecuted. Their homeland, the Land of Israel,\nwas devastated and overtaken by strangers. During the Holocaust in WWII, the\nGerman Nazis finally came up with the plan of their \u201cFinal Solution\u201d to\nannihilate all the Jews. They were gathered from every European country into\nconcentration camps to be murdered in gas showers and then cremated in gas.\nThey were shot and tortured in ghettos. Six million Jews were murdered in the\nworst racial genocide the world has ever known. But out of the ashes of the\ndead bodies, the Jewish nation and the land of Israel was reborn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today,\nseventy-two years later, Israel is considered a miracle that could only have\nhappened by the hand of God according to His prophecies in the Bible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShall the earth be made to give\nbirth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in\nlabor, she gave birth to her children.\u201d<\/em> (Isaiah 66:8)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most\nof the surviving, Jewish remnant was on the brink of starvation and Gentiles\npossessed their homes. Most were homeless and penniless. They were gathered by\nthe Jewish Agency into refugee camps, waiting and hoping that Israel, which was\nchanged to Palestine, would once again be the Land of the Jews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For\ncenturies the Jews were victims of pogroms, blood libels, forced conversions,\nexpulsions and other forms of religious persecution. A small remnant, the\nholocaust survivors, reached the lowest point of human dignity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nprophet Ezekiel prophesied of a time when the people of Israel would say: \u201cOur bones are dry, our hope is\nlost, and we ourselves are cut off!\u201d<\/em> Yet God assured them\nthat He would <\/em>\u201ccause you to come up from your\ngraves, and bring you into the land of Israel.\u201d<\/em> (Ezekiel 37:11-12)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\nMay 1948, just three years after the end of the Holocaust, the Jewish people\nrose from the ashes, and in one day a nation was born \u2013 the Nation of Israel.\nThe resurrection power of God did this miracle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God\npromised He would fight for His people Israel, and He did. When Israel\u2019s leader\nDavid Ben-Gurion declared independence on May 14, 1948, the Jewish state was\nimmediately attacked by five neighboring Arab armies. These large trained\narmies were well-armed, while the new nation of Israel hardly had an army or\nweapons. Frail Holocaust survivors arriving in Israel by sea were given guns\nupon stepping down from the ships without even shoes on their feet. Arab\nleaders who had vowed to \u201cdrive the Jews into the sea\u201d were sure they would\nwin, but against all odds, Israel won.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jews\nare the only people who were uprooted from their homeland, scattered among the\nnations, speaking their languages, and then after two thousand years have\nreturned to that same land to re-establish their national sovereignty while\nreviving their ancient language. Yet, anyone who reads the Bible can see it was\nforetold in His word. One prophecy that repeats itself more than any other, by\nnearly all the prophets in the Bible, is God promising to gather His people\nIsrael from all the corners of the world and bring them back to the Land of\nIsrael as He promised their forefathers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jewish people clung to God\u2019s Word and promises in\nthe Bible, which kept them together as a people even in all those nations where\nthey were scattered. They never lost hope that one day God will fulfill His\npromises and they will come back to the Promised Land. In their prayers they\nsaid confidently: \u201cNext year in Jerusalem!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God\u2019s ultimate purpose for the ingathering of Israel\nto the Land physically is Israel\u2019s ingathering to Himself spiritually. His love\nfor Israel is everlasting: \u201cI have\nloved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing\nkindness. 4 <\/strong>I will build you up again, and you, Virgin Israel,\nwill be rebuilt.\u201d<\/em> Jeremiah 31:3-4<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God is faithful to His Word both physically and\nspiritually. His faithfulness to His people Israel is expressed by Paul the\napostle in Roman 11:15, when he writes about Israel (the Jewish people) who\ntemporarily were \u201cset aside\u201d after rejecting the Gospel, which led to many\ngentiles coming to God. \u201cwhat will\ntheir acceptance be? life the dead.\u201d<\/em>  Roman 11:15  \u201cand so all\nIsrael shall be saved.\u201d<\/em>  Roman 11:26<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
