Unrest in Israel

January 27, 2023 By Bella Davidov Leave a Comment

The battle rages in Israel between the left that lost the elections and the new right-wing government. Thousands of Israelis took to the streets last Saturday evening to protest plans by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s new government whose opponents say threaten democracy and freedoms.

The protesters gathered in the central city of Tel Aviv days after the right-wing and religiously conservative government was sworn in.

“The settler government is against me,” read one placard. Another banner read, “Housing, Livelihood, Hope.” Some protesters carried rainbow flags.

The protest was led by left-wing and Arab members of the Israeli parliament, the Knesset. They contend that proposed plans by the new Cabinet will hinder the judicial system and widen societal gaps.

The left-wing protesters slammed Justice Minister Yariv Levin, who recently unveiled the government’s long-promised overhaul of the judicial system that aims to weaken the country’s Supreme Court.

Critics accused the government of declaring war on the legal system, saying the plan will up-end Israel’s system of checks and balances and undermine its democratic institutions by giving absolute power to the new governing coalition.

Picture: Israeli and Palestinian flags are seen at an anti-government demonstration in Tel Aviv, January 7, 2023. (Ahmad Al-Bazz) from +972 Magazine

Yair Lapid, the former prime minister and head of the opposition, said he would fight the changes “in every possible way” and vowed to cancel them if he returns to power. “Those who carry out a unilateral coup in Israel need to know that we are not obligated to it in any way whatsoever,” he said.

What has triggered this battle is the left’s objections to what they claim is a combination of the government’s proposed laws against LGBTQ rights, its plan to overhaul the law enforcement and education systems, and, most prominently, its proposals for “reform” of the judiciary.

However, democracy is not threatened if an elected body sets the rules to void a law that a majority of judges believe offends a Basic Law. Should a mere 8 or 11 Supreme Court judges invalidate a Knesset law? This is what the government wants to refute since these laws are legislative judgments and not judicial prerogatives.

Newly-appointed Justice Minister Levin’s proposed law would make several other reasonable changes affecting the membership and power of Israel’s judiciary, but not removing their power completely.

Levin and the Knesset’s Chair Rothman have stated they intend to make reforms in the Israeli judicial system, mainly in the authority of the Supreme Court. Read more about the suggested reforms here – Click. The left and Arab parties are protesting against the new government every Saturday in Tel Aviv.

These protests are organized and financed by left-wing organizations such as Standing Together, the New Fund for Israel, and Breaking the Silence all of which oppose Israel being God’s Land and a Jewish State. They claim that Israel should be the state of ALL its citizens, not just Jews and that this government is promoting “racist” and “dictatorial policies.” The left is declaring a “struggle for democracy.”

The Saturday protests also include a smaller, more radical group of Israeli anti-Zionists and pro-Palestinians who hold banners and signs against Israeli ‘apartheid’ and ‘colonialism,’ as well as Palestinian flags.

Last week National Security Minister Ben Gvir instructed the police commissioner to ban the Palestinian flag in public and called for more drastic measures against future demonstrations. Gvir’s measures have incited more people, even leaders from nearly every political party in the opposition, to commit to a similar demonstration expected shortly.

We are thankful to the Lord that there was not one incident of violence in these protests. Please pray that peaceful protests will continue to be peaceful.

Yeshua’s Words and Their Influence

September 27, 2021 By Bella Davidov Leave a Comment

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation”
(Mark 16:15)

Hebrew, the Language of God’s Word

Yeshua spoke in His mother tongue: Hebrew. The original Old Testament was written in Hebrew, and Yeshua often quoted scriptures in Hebrew. He spoke to His Jewish disciples in Hebrew. He also spoke Aramaic and Greek or Latin when necessary. The writing on the cross, “King of the Jews”, was first in Hebrew – the main language in use in Israel at the time of Jesus’ death and resurrection, and then also in Latin and Greek [John 19:19-20.]

The angel Gabriel spoke Hebrew to Miriam when he came to announce to her that she would have a Son by the Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit.) The angel said to her, “Mary, do not be afraid. You have found favor with God. See! You are to become a mother and have a Son. You are to give Him the name Jesus”.

However, the above scripture is the English translation of Hebrew. The angel’s name is Gavriel, which means in Hebrew “God is my strength”. Mary’s original name is a Hebrew name – Miriam, and Joseph is the Hebrew name Yoseph. The angel told Miriam in Hebrew that the name of the baby would be Yeshua. The English letters of Jesus come from the Hebrew letters of Yeshua, His original Hebrew name. The word Jesus, which is the wonderful English Name of our Savior, has no meaning in the English language, but in Hebrew Yeshua means Salvation.

When Miriam asked Gabriel, how that could be, the angel quoted the scripture in Hebrew from Gen. 15:28: “ki lo yipale’ me’Elohim kol davar”, translated, “for nothing is impossible for God”.

The angel Gavriel (Gabriel) appeared to Joseph in a dream telling him “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.” He then said…After her baby is born, name him Jesus, “because he will save his people from their sins.”

He actually spoke in Hebrew because he said: name him Yeshua (Salvation) because he will Yoshia (save) his people (Israel) from their sins. Only in Hebrew does His name have meaning – salvation, and the verb Yoshia (save) is a derivative of the noun Yeshua, salvation.

Yeshua’s Words and Their Influence Today in Israel

God’s Word is alive, powerful (Heb. 4:12) and influences every area of life. Yeshua lived here in the land of Israel and His supreme teachings touched all peoples and cultures. In Israel, modern Hebrew, which is based mainly on the ancient biblical language, is the most popular language and has also incorporated many words and sayings from other sources and cultures.

Some of Yeshua’s sayings are used today in Israel and other places, and people don’t realize that He is the source. For example, Israelis often say of a person who is down-to-earth and has roots in the Israeli culture that “He is the salt-of-the-earth”, today. (In Matt. 5:13 Yeshua said to His followers that they were the salt of the earth.)

Another saying is, “…. no prophet is accepted in his hometown” (Luke 4:24) There is no other mention of that saying by anyone else before Yeshua. Yet it is a saying often used by Israelis, and most of them do not know that Yeshua was the One who said it first.

Another saying that Yeshua used, is found in Matthew 7:3, “And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?” This saying has become part of the writings of the Rabbis in the oral law that many Israelis use, not knowing that it was Yeshua who originated this saying.

At the end of John’s wonderful gospel, John 20:30-31, and 21:25, He said that there were also many other things that Yeshua did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.

Glory – Kavod

The word glory has many interpretations. The manifest presence of God is a level of glory. It is the Hebrew word, Kavod, which comes from the word Koved, meaning weight, heavy. There are two types of weight.

  1. There is the physically heavy weight. This word in Hebrew is Mishkal. Weight in the physical realm.
  2. Then there is the weight that carries with it authority, like the word of an important person. The words of an important person carry great weight; when he speaks, they cause people to submit to what he says.

When Yeshua walked in the earth, He showed the manifest Presence of God, the miraculous works of God, the attributes of God, the nature of God; all of this is glory. People marveled at how He spoke with such authority, teaching unlike any of the teachers of that day. His words carried weight – Kavod.

There is another term in Hebrew Israelis use often to tell someone who has done something great, or succeeded in something: “Kol Ha Kavod,” which literally means, all the Kavod – power and honor. As believers, we say that only Yeshua deserves to receive ALL the Kavod – the glory and the honor.

Please Pray: As our hearts yearn and we pray for our people, ask that God will touch them with a terrific hunger and thirst for His Word, and that His awesome love will melt away the many prejudices against Yeshua, enabling them to look upon Him and consider His wonderful life-giving teachings.

We love and appreciate you very much. Thank you for your faithfulness in standing with us for the salvation of Israel, in prayer and financial support. We pray for you too from Zion, for God to supply all your needs and bless you greatly.

We would love to hear from you – any comments, questions, and/or prayer requests.

RETURN TO ZION – the Miracle of Modern Israel

September 25, 2020 By Bella Davidov Leave a Comment

The destruction of Jerusalem and the second temple by the Romans in 70 CE and the banishment of the Jewish people to the far corners of the Roman Empire ended the Jewish nation and the sovereignty of the Jewish people of Judah for almost 2,000 years. During the following centuries, until the 19th century, whenever a Jewish population attempted to settle and gather in the suburbs of Jerusalem, they were warned off by the reigning empire—frequently by force. After the decree of Rome banishing the Jewish people from the city of Jerusalem and the region, the Roman government renamed the land “Palestine.”

Thereafter, the Jewish people suffered prejudice and persecution as a people. There ceased to be a Jewish nation – neither Israel nor Judah. As the Lord warned through the biblical prophets, the people of Israel were scattered around the earth. However, the Jewish people stayed together as a people wherever they lived throughout the world, observing the Sabbath and celebrating the Jewish (biblical) holidays. During the Passover Seder (meal), they recited the story of deliverance from slavery in Egypt, and at the end, they proclaimed: “Next year in Jerusalem!”

The land of Israel and the city of Jerusalem were never forgotten. In the latter19th century, events began to transpire that would eventually give birth, after almost two millennia, to the modern Jewish state of Israel.

The “Aliyah Movement”

The literal meaning of the Hebrew word, “Aliyah” is “to go up.” In other words, no matter where a Jewish immigrant is coming from to Jerusalem or the Land of Israel, he is going up. It is also the term for calling a member of a Jewish synagogue to “come up” to read the weekly portion from the Holy Torah scroll.

The Aliyah movement was a response to the historic and repeated persecution of European Jews. It swept young Jewish adults of Eastern Europe in an almost spontaneous burst of passion for the Land.

The First Aliyah in 1881 to 1882 – a reaction to pogroms (an organized massacre) in Czarist Russia would eventually include almost 35,000 Jewish pioneers, a generation of Jewish young adults determined to leave their countries of origin and “go up” to the land of their forefathers, now called Palestine. Their passion was to rebuild their families and the land. These pioneers frequently overcame monumental obstacles to reach the historic lands of Judah and Israel, at that time known as “Palestine,” in an attempt to build a new life for themselves and the Jewish people.

The First Zionist Congress – The second significant event in the latter 19th century was the emergence of Zionism under the initial inspiration and leadership of Theodor Herzl, a successful secular Jewish journalist from Vienna, who was shocked by the deadly anti-Semitism, prejudice, and persecution of the European Jews at the hand of the gentiles, and was convinced that they were a continual threat. The solution, according to Herzl, was a Jewish homeland in Zion, the ancient land of the Jewish people. To this end, he organized the First Zionist Congress, held in Basel, Switzerland, in 1897 with about 200 Jewish delegates in attendance from different nations.

During the 19th century, as the First Aliyah began to unfold, and the First Zionist Conference was held, Christian leaders were of mixed opinions as to the significance of these matters. Some read the prophecies in the scriptures and were certain the nation of Israel had to be reborn. Others, believing in the replacement theology, were just as certain Israel and the Jews were rejected by God and replaced by the “Church.” Depending on the denomination, churches were for or against, (moral) support to the Zionist cause.

This debate continued right up until the UN voted in 1948 to make a way for a Jewish homeland, and continues to rage to the present day. Is it Prophetic or Political? Whether it is a Russian diplomat acting on behalf of the Czar; or a U.S. President, or the U.S. State, religious and/or political beliefs lie beneath the surface of action or inaction. Even today, beliefs, as well as self-interest and necessities, right or wrong, specifically affect individuals’ and nations’ positions on the events taking place in the Middle East.

Following the death of Herzl in July 1904, the banner for a Jewish state was carried by a new generation of secular, humanist, European Jews. Chaim Weizmann and David Ben-Gurion were the most notable. The motivating force behind the struggle for the creation of a Jewish homeland was driven by these men who were liberal, even socialist in their beliefs and politics.

Religious Judaism was not significantly represented among the early leaders of what became the first Israeli politicians. They were not motivated at all by a historical/biblical longing for the return to the land of their fathers. Their motivation was nationalistic; to the extent that they were convinced, there could never be peace for Jews in any non-Jewish country.

Internationally, and under all circumstances, whenever events turned negative—be they political, economic, or even climate change—the Jews were always the convenient scapegoats for blame. Even in the USA, it was widely held among the general population that “the Jews were behind the banking crisis and the Great Depression.”

The early Zionist founders were Jews but had no real connection to the Jewish religion or traditions. Some barely believed in God, or not at all. In fact, religious Judaism was skeptical of any effort to create a new Jewish state. Many Orthodox rabbis spoke openly against it, even maintaining it was up to the Messiah, when He comes, to reestablish the nation. Many went so far as to say working for a (secular) Jewish state was blasphemous.

The Balfour Declaration – Britain’s Lord Balfour’s declaration was a public statement issued on November 2, 1917, by the British government and published on November 9, 1917. It declared support for the establishment of a “national home for the Jewish people” in Palestine, (which was at that time a Muslim Ottoman Empire region with a small minority Jewish population.)

It seemed to satisfy the vision Herzl had for a Jewish home in their homeland. However, its implementation met with opposition within the British government because England was dependent upon the expanding crude oil development of the Middle East, which necessitated good relations and support of the Arab populations and states that apparently controlled the crude reserves.

At the conclusion of WWI, the victorious Allies, at the encouragement of Great Britain, made several modifications to the map of the Middle East that was previously the undivided Turkish Ottoman Empire. They divided up much of that territory to create a new map. Included in this innovative map-making was the creation of several new countries that had never existed before, such as Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and others. The “Great Nations” behind this new map of the Middle East were Great Britain, France, and, to some extent, Russia.

A New Map

With all of this “new country creation,” the Zionists had realistic expectations, in light of the Balfour Declaration, that Great Britain would only allow for a sliver of land in Palestine for the first Jewish homeland in two millennia.

Unfortunately, even this did not happen at that time, as the national security voices within the British Foreign Office prevailed with the argument that the vast Arab majority of the Middle East, where the largest concentration of future crude oil was certain to be located, would not permit the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine, no matter how small.

The League of Nations (later to become the United Nations) gave Great Britain the mandate over the Palestine area, which included the area that is now Jordan. The British were supposed to be there until the Jews would be able to rule their new state. They were also supposed to keep the peace in this troubled spot. This enabled the British to maintain British dominance in this strategic region.

But, due to England’s growing prejudice and hostility toward world Jewry and their religion, as the 20th Century progressed, it became clear to the Zionists that a Jewish homeland in Palestine might never be achieved. With hostility increasing all over Europe toward the Jews and British policy limiting the immigration of Jews to Palestine, Jews began to resort to “illegal” means to enter and settle in Palestine.

Nowhere to go

Even as Hitler’s final solution to exterminate the Jewish population of Europe progressed, Great Britain continued to forbid entry of additional European Jews refugees to Palestine. Once Hitler was finally defeated, Europe found itself with millions of DPs, (Displaced Persons,) of which the majorities were Jewish survivors of the Hitler extermination machine. These Jewish Holocaust survivors soon discovered they were not even welcome to return to their former European homes or cities. When a few brave ones attempted, they were greeted not as survivors of Hitler, but as “the cause of the war.”

A significant number of those who survived Hitler were killed by angry anti-Semite mobs when they attempted to return to their homes which had been confiscated (among them were Bella’s father’s family.) In Poland, returning survivors were attacked with shouts of, “Hitler should have finished the job! Why aren’t you dead?” The Allies decided it was too risky to allow these Jewish survivors to “just run loose.” So, the Allied Occupation Command decided to convert many of Hitler’s “death” camps to “DP camps,” camps for displaced persons (Bella was born in a DP camp in 1947). Once again, the Jews were locked up!

Although pressure was mounting on Britain to let some of these Holocaust survivors enter Palestine, the British government feared it would provoke an Arab violent reaction, as it saw itself as the only peacekeeping force in Palestine between the Arab population and the growing Jewish one.

By the fall of 1947, the pressure upon the British had grown almost intolerable, with U.S. President Harry Truman leading the way, finally, Great Britain agreed to an option of ending the mandate (trusteeship) submitted to a vote by the newly created United Nations general assembly. Britain lobbied on behalf of a proposal, calling for the simultaneous creation of an Arab state and a Jewish state, dividing the previously undivided Palestine.

However, with the growing aspirations of the Soviet Union in the Middle East and the desire to reduce the influence of Great Britain in the region, the Soviet Union, with all of their vassal states, voted for the end of the mandate and the creation of an independent Jewish state.

The U.N. vote on November 29, 1947, ended the British mandate in the region, as well as the blockade of the European-Jews, immigrated to Palestine.

Declaration of the State of Israel

Immediately upon the withdrawal of the last British troops from Palestine, Ben-Gurion, the leader of the Jewish population in the land declared the independence and statehood of the Jewish nation, calling the new Jewish state and the land – “Israel.” In fulfillment of the prophecy in Isaiah 66:8, on May 14, 1948, a nation, the Nation of Israel was truly born in a day.

Once the U.N. voted to end the mandate, and cleared the way for a Jewish state, it began to establish the permissible, likely borders. Also, it was envisioned that an additional Arab/Palestinian state would simultaneously be created in the former British Mandate Palestine.

The neighboring and existing (Islamic) Arab nations in the region opposed the idea of a Jewish state ever emerging in the Middle East, no matter how small. At the core of the Arab opposition was a fundamental Islamic inviolable precept that “Once a land or territory has been conquered by Islam, from that time that land is Islamic! All true followers of Islam are committed to going to war, and even dying, to enforce this Islamic dictum!” (Israel was conquered by Islam in the 7th century and reconquered in the 11th century)

The Miracle

This is the mantra of organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah as well as nations like Iran. To the secular nations, including the emerging secular leadership of the (then) proposed Jewish state, it seemed impossible to reason with such religious dogma. It appeared war would be the only solution. Jihad (Islam Holy War) was the only honorable response prescribed by Islam.

The outnumbered, outgunned Jews of the new state were seen as having no chance to survive such an attack from the surrounding enormous enemy armies. It was widely believed the Jewish state that was born in one day would not survive even one day. Miraculously, Israel defeated these enemies and God’s word of a reborn Jewish state prevailed.

Coronavirus, Prophecy, and Israel

March 13, 2020 By Bella Davidov Leave a Comment

The Coronavirus (COVID -19), which first appeared in China’s Hubei Province, is now rapidly spreading around the world at alarming rates, and with it, stock markets are plummeting. Thursday stocks hit their worst losses since the crash of 1987. The Dow Jones Industrial Average sank 10% for its worst day since a nearly 23% drop on Oct. 19, 1987.

Coronavirus, Prophesy and Israel
Covid 19

It seems that the world is in the grip of this virus in what is becoming a global pandemic. People are rushing to stock their homes with emergency supplies, there is a real danger that it will affect supply and demand proportions very quickly. The virus knows no boundaries, nor does it distinguish between races. It attacks Chinese, Italians, Swiss, Americans, Israelis, Palestinians, Iranians and others around the globe. Millions are in a panic, which is as dangerous as the disease itself. The reality is that people’s livelihoods and health are being threatened at the same time.

Large outbreaks of the virus globally prompted many to link the epidemic to the biblical prophecies of the end times. Christian ‘End Time experts’ have linked the Coronavirus to the events of the Apocalypse.

The Apocalypse

Many Christians believe that the Book of Revelation prophesizes about cataclysmic events that will unfold before the Second Coming of Christ. Some believe that the world has already experienced the three Horsemen of the Apocalypse with religious deception, wars, and famine. Now with the spread of the Coronavirus, they believe the pestilence of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse has started.

Evangelists Gerald Flurry and Wayne Turgeon of The Trumpet said: “It is imperative that each of us takes heed while there is still time.” Charity Mukuba announced: “The rider of this pale horse has been released on earth today. We can already see the plagues of locusts and pestilences like CORONAVIRUS that have brought famine and death.”

John the Apostle wrote in Revelation 6:

“And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.”

There is however no evidence to suggest that the Coronavirus is the pestilence described in the bible. COVID-19 belongs to a family of viruses that attacked parts of the world in the past. For instance, SARS emerged in 2002 in the Guangdong province of China, and globally spread infecting 8,096 people and causing 774 deaths.

Drastic Measures

Drastic measures are being taken to avoid the spread of the virus and prevent death, as well as avoid the spreading of panic and talk of conspiracy theories. Most of the dead so far are the elderly with previous health problems.

Israel’s rapid implementation of tough quarantine measures was expanded just before the country started celebrating Purim. Anyone entering the country from anywhere in the world must self-quarantine for 14 days, including Israeli citizens. Tourists and non-citizens also have to enter 14 days of self-quarantine after reporting the address where they will be staying. Israel has not closed Ben-Gurion International Airport but most flights to and from Israel have been canceled due to various travel restrictions worldwide and poor ticket sales.

Programs involving international travel, such as the annual March of the Living program, which takes students to Poland to see the death camps of the Holocaust and then moves on to Israel, are postponed.

As the toll of Coronavirus grows, it is crucial not to downplay or exaggerate the threat. Even in a free society, citizens must be willing to sacrifice some of their freedoms and personal comfort for the sake of public health.

Purim 2020

The Jewish month of Adar is a time to rejoice, even more so with the festival of Purim. But this Purim was different as the joy was tainted by this terrible virus. There is some good news from China, where it all started:
There appears to be a slowdown in the outbreak of the virus. With God’s help, a cure or vaccine will be developed in the near future.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a series of government and health ministry decisions urging Israelis to follow stricter hygiene routines, limit public gatherings to 100 people and stay home in self-quarantine if experiencing suspected symptoms.

Netanyahu also asked people not to hold conferences and events if they don’t have to. Schools are closed and higher education facilities will teach remotely. Health Ministry’s Director General called on employers to let more and more employees work from home.

As of today, there are 16 additional confirmed cases of Coronavirus, bringing the national patient count to 126. It was also reported that there are 2,479 health workers in quarantine – among them 949 doctors and 635 nurses. Of those diagnosed with the virus, 91 are in hospitals, one more is being admitted and five are being treated at home, the ministry said. Two Coronavirus patients are in serious condition, and three Israelis have recovered from the disease. As a general rule, people should maintain a reasonable distance from each other.

Pray

As believers, it is important to look to our God and Savior Who is Sovereign over all His creation. It is widely believed that the Coronavirus outbreak will get significantly worse before it stabilizes and gets better. With taking the necessary precautions and abiding by local laws and regulations, we must keep on believing that our God is in control and that He is our protector (Ps. 91). In God’s economy there is no stock market crash. He will supply all of our needs according to HIS riches in glory. We need to pray and rely now on God’s Word and His promises. Do not fear, and do not worry.

If you are in Israel: hotline (*5400) is open to receive general information and assistance, or the Magen David Adom emergency services (101) in case of flu-like symptoms, including fever, coughing, shortness of breath, and difficulty breathing (call before going to the hospital.)

Infection Election

March 2, 2020 By Bella Davidov Leave a Comment

About to Go to the Polls – Again!

Israel is getting ready for another election round tomorrow. Many countries are watching with interest in how Israel deals with “an infection election,” including the United States, where presidential and congressional elections will be held in November.

There are several thousand people in Israel who have quarantined themselves after coming into contact with possible carriers of the coronavirus who have recently visited countries where outbreaks of the illness have been reported or could have come in contact with foreign tourists who came to Israel and then tested positive or became infected after returning home. The Central Elections Committee has set up some dozen voting stations around the country for those citizens for tomorrow’s election.

Infection and Precaution

Israel’s Ministry of Health announced that if those who have isolated themselves do not have symptoms such as a fever over 38 degrees (100.4˚ F), a cough, or trouble breathing, they can go to the special polling tents. They should come alone in private vehicles without stopping anywhere else on the way, and not park in public parking garages.

While awaiting their turn, says the ministry, no person should stand closer than two meters (six feet) from their fellow voters, or touch anything.

They will enter special, heavy plastic tents, wearing masks and latex gloves, one at a time. They will have to sign a declaration that they are voting in a booth set up for quarantined individuals, after which the pen will be thrown away.

Their voting slips will be sealed in double envelopes, just like the votes of soldiers on their bases and hospitalized patients. Regular volunteer observers could not be found to oversee and count these votes, so emergency medical technicians from Magen David Adom; Israel’s emergency medical, disaster, ambulance, and blood bank have stepped up to do the job.

The volunteers will wear smocks, gloves, and masks, and make sure that the correct distance is kept between the voters. They will sit in one tent, with a clear plastic window that will give them a view into the actual attached “booth.” These special polls will only be open between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

According to Magen David Adom CEO Eli Bin, “These are not sick people and there is little chance that they are contagious, but everyone is adhering to the Health Ministry’s guidelines to ensure public safety.” Moshe Bar Siman-Tov, director-general of the Health Ministry, says Israelis should not have any hesitations about voting in tomorrow’s elections because of the coronavirus.

The Situation is Under Control and Safe

“The situation is under control. Everyone who was infected with the coronavirus, we know where they were infected and this is important that it’s safe to go vote. Don’t hesitate… go vote,” Bar Siman-Tov says, “everything is safe and you don’t need to worry,” he says.

The two leading parties, Likud and Blue and White are fighting for every vote. Yet a poll last week showed that 6.5 percent said they were thinking of not going to vote due to their fear of getting infected.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Magen David Adom call center and said, ” We are in control and it is safe to go and vote.”

Netanyahu also assured voters that the police would be on hand in polling stations to stop disruption and provocations.

Health Minister Yaakov Litzman told voters not to come to the polls with masks on. Anyone under suspicion of having come in contact with the coronavirus will be voting at the designated stations.

Please pray with us, as the Holy Spirit leads, for this election, for safety, order and the will of God to be done.
