Netanyahu’s Impossible Choice

Choices and Decisions in Wartime

     Educated at a top private school in England, the Britisher Alan Turing was considered a mathematics genius from an early age. He entered the University of Cambridge to study mathematics in 1931. He was already working part-time for the British Government’s Code and Cypher School before World War II with Germany broke out in September 1939. Turing then accepted a full-time, top-secret post at the British Army War-time Headquarters in Buckinghamshire, along with a team of other mathematical geniuses to head the development of a code-breaking machine that would decipher the military codes of the Enigma, the German devise used to encode strategic messages during the war.

     After many unsuccessful tries, and very close to the deadline given by his employer, Turing’s machine was finally able to crack the German Enigma code just as the Germans planned to blow up a British war vessel with 500 hundred men on board. The team members were excited at the possibility of saving the men’s lives and hurried to make a phone call to inform headquarters of the good news. However, Turing grabbed the phone and said: “No, we are not going to disclose this breakthrough that would let the Germans know that we have decoded the Enigma. They will then destroy it and build another one. We must guard this secret even from our military.” All agreed except one whose brother was on board the vessel. He begged Turing to save his brother’s life. It was a difficult decision for Turing but with much determination, he declared that winning the war and saving millions of lives took precedence over saving a few hundred lives.

     Subsequently, for the rest of the war, Turing’s machine supplied the Allies with large quantities of military intelligence. By early 1942, it had decoded monthly about 39,000 intercepted messages, a figure that rose to over 84,000 per month—two messages every minute, day and night. In 1942, Turing also devised the first systematic method for decoding messages encrypted by the sophisticated German cipher machine that the British called “Tunny.”

     In the end, thanks to Turing, the war was shortened by two years, and about 14 million lives were saved.

A Similar Dilemma

     In today’s war between Israel and Hamas, Israeli PM Netanyahu and the war cabinet now face a similar dilemma.

     On October 7, 2023, on the last day of the holiday of Succoth, Hamas terrorists invaded southern Israel via land, air, and sea, committing atrocities upon residents in the entire region. During the massacre, the terrorists murdered in cold blood more than 1,200 innocent civilians, including infants, young and old, and youth who were partying at a peace music festival. Additionally, Hamas abducted 240 Israelis into the Gaza Strip.

     It was a declaration of war that Israel has since been fighting. Israel has three main goals:

  1. destroying Hamas as a military and ruling force in Gaza;
  2. the return of the hostages; and
  3. ensuring Hamas will no longer threaten Israel’s security.

     Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, vowed again a few days ago to continue the offensive war in the Gaza Strip until achieving a “crushing victory” against Hamas.

     At the end of November 2023, a week’s ceasefire was declared. Hamas released 105 hostages and Israel freed 240 Palestinian prisoners and detainees. However, after Hamas violated the pause, the Israeli army resumed fighting. To date, there remain some 136 hostages, some alive and some murdered (the IDF has so far confirmed 31 hostages who have been killed, including the bodies of 2 soldiers kept by Hamas since 2014.)

     Presently, Netanyahu refuses to accept another so-called “deal” with Hamas for the release of the remaining abducted Israelis, claiming that Hamas’ new conditions are unacceptable.

     In protest, the families of Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip are protesting and have recently shut down a vital road in Tel Aviv to demand an immediate deal with Hamas for the release of their loved ones. On the other hand, thousands of Israeli right-wing demonstrators protested in Jerusalem and demanded the government not stop the fighting in Gaza, even for the negotiations with Hamas, which would result in Israel losing the war.

     PM Benjamin Netanyahu is facing mounting public pressure, including from some politicians affiliated with his War Cabinet. However, Netanyahu is standing firm. He said at a news conference a few days ago: “Giving in to the outrageous demands of Hamas will not only fail to bring about the release of the hostages but will invite an additional massacre and disaster for Israel. The day after the war is the day after Hamas; not part of Hamas, not half of Hamas,” meaning ALL of Hamas. According to Netanyahu, the Israeli army is on the way to a complete victory that will take not years but months. “We will continue until the end,” he said, “There is no other solution besides complete victory.”

     As Turing’s decision was in WWII to win the war and save millions at the cost of several hundred lives, so is Netanyahu’s decision to win the war and save the entire Jewish nation, unfortunately, at the cost, if necessary, of less than a hundred precious lives.

Our Prayer Focus

     In this vein, we at the prayer tent are now meeting four times a week in prayer, supplication with thanksgiving, believing for a miracle, the release of the hostages, and complete victory over Israel’s vicious enemy. As with God’s miracle when He saved the people of Israel out of slavery in Egypt, when He parted the Red Sea and the Israelites crossed over on dry land and He then drowned the Egyptian army that pursued them. As the Lord said then to Israel: “the Egyptians you see today, you will see no more.” The enemy of Israel was completely destroyed, while Israel was saved.

     We pray for a similar miracle today, for God to bring the Israeli hostages home safely, while Hamas is completely destroyed by the collapse of their own tunnels. Hamas in Gaza we will see no more. Amen!
 

News Flash

Monday we got the news that 2 hostages were rescued by the IDF in a daring mission in the southern Gaza Strip. Today is the 129th day of the war – and of their captivity. This is much-welcomed news and so encouraging. Please pray for more of the same.

Did Iran’s Plan Backfire?

‘Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. What the enemy has purposed for destruction, God will turn around for good.’ Proverbs 19:21 NIV

As we wrote in previous newsletters, the plans and purposes of the enemies of Israel and the Jews – Hamas and other terrorist organizations – are to destroy and annihilate the Jews and steal the Land of Israel they call Palestine. These goals are stated very clearly in Hamas’ creed. They are also the plans of Iran’s Ayatollah’s regime, as they’ve declared many times. For this purpose, Iran has masterminded a diabolical plan with its proxies;

to the north of Israel

Lebanon: Hezbollah and Hamas terrorists with many thousands of missiles, some of them precision-guided, and UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles.)

Syria: Seventeen armed militias of various terrorist groups ready to use a very large number of missiles and UAVs Iran has transferred to Syria:

to the east of Israel

Iraq: Dozens of militias, ready to use missiles and UAVs.

to the far south of Israel

Yemen: The Houthis, equipped with Iranian long-range missiles and UAVs capable of reaching Israel.

Gaza: Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, with missiles aimed to destroy the Israel Defense Forces and Israeli Air Force bases. (Hamas has also devotees in the Judea and Samaria territory and among the Israeli Arabs who would join the fighting.)

Iran is counting on the success of its above-mentioned proxies to do its bidding so it will not have to be directly involved militarily in the combined attack. However, the Ayatollahs are the leaders, proclaiming that, “It is the duty of the Muslim world to save the Al-Aqsa mosque from the Israeli/Zionist occupation and oppression, and to kill the invading Jews as instructed in the holy Koran.”

Iran planned to first launch a surprise simultaneous massive missile attack from all sides upon Israeli military bases and civilian facilities, along with cyber-attacks on infrastructure systems. Their tactic was to overwhelm Israel’s Iron Dome and other aerial defense systems with a barrage of missiles and UAVs. This aerial and cyber-attack would destroy Israel’s ability to defend itself, clearing the way for the next phase: a ground attack.

As the aerial attack would be in progress, hundreds of thousands of terrorists would then simultaneously storm into Israel from all sides; from Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza on foot, on dirt bikes, ATVs (anti-tank vehicles), and with other vehicles equipped with anti-tank weapons, machine guns and other arms while shooting, murdering and abducting the mostly unarmed Jewish population. All means are legitimate: rape, cutting throats, burning people alive, murdering and decapitating men, women, children and babies.

Their simultaneous massive surprise attack would catch the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) and intelligence off-guard. Israel would need several days to mobilize and equip the reserves. Reinforcements on various fronts would take time thereby allowing the terrorists to destroy the regular forces. This coordinated massive attack would give them final victory over the Zionist enemy, free the occupied land and El-Aqsa’ and give Palestine back to the Palestinians.

Hamas was training its people for this attack for months and there were warnings from different sources in Israel that Iran planned to use Hamas and Hezbollah for a combined attack against Israel. Unfortunately, Israel was unaware of the timing and Israeli intelligence reassured the government that Hamas was deterred and would not attack in the near future.

What Actually Happened?

While, Gaza, Lebanon and the other players were waiting for Iran’s go-ahead for the perfect time for this surprise attack on Israel, Hamas couldn’t wait and miss the opportunity to carry out this surprise attack on their own and spill Jewish blood.

This brings us to October 7th, 2023, the last day of the celebration of Sukkot in Israel. Hamas knew of the festival that took place every two years on this date near their border with Israel. The week-long Supernova music festival was entitled ‘A Journey of Unity and Love.’ Thousands of peace-loving, young Israelis gathered on Friday evening, October 6th, on the grounds of Kibbutz Re’im, 3 miles from the Gazan border.

They spent the night listening to ear-deafening music blasting from loudspeakers, dancing, and drinking. Early the next morning, the music was still blaring and the youngsters were still dancing as they hardly noticed the boom of rockets from Gaza.

One of the survivors said the following:

“It happened in an instant. The terrorists… got out of a large white vehicle, a type of van. They shot from close range, it was terrible.”

Another survivor hid under a fruit tree; “I played dead for three hours…I saw people dying all around…”

Many young Israelis were killed and many were kidnapped and taken into Gaza, some in vans and some on motorcycles. Others were ordered to march on foot at gunpoint.

Hamas just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to rampage through Israel under the umbrella of thousands of missiles they were shooting at Israel. They couldn’t wait to murder and decapitate Jewish civilians men, women, children, and babies, rape women and burn them, and throw hand grenades into homes, murdering the occupants. That same day, blood-thirsty Hamas terrorists posted grisly scenes from the attacks while Gazan men, women, and children celebrated the massacre handing out candies and other goodies. More than 1,400 Israelis died and more than 200 were taken captive.

Shockingly, there is now a ‘Holocaust denial-like phenomenon’ circulating around the world about the truth of the atrocities.
 

Will Iran continue its plan now that it has lost its element of surprise?

Iran boasts that it has equipped the Houthis in Yemen with missiles with a range of some 2,000 kilometers (nearly 1,250 miles) and Hezbollah with advanced rockets able to target Israeli naval vessels and Tel Aviv. Also, pro-Iran Iraqi militias are entrenched in the Syrian part of the Golan Heights.

An Israeli official has said, “Such an attack could begin within days if Iran’s Supreme Leader’s demands to stop Israeli strikes on Gaza are ignored.”

However, Iran has lost the element of surprise. As of now, Hezbollah has been carrying out frequent attacks with rockets, mortars, and guided missiles on Israeli targets in the north. Thankfully, Israeli drones have been able to identify Hezbollah fighters approaching the Israeli border, kill terrorists, and bomb Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon.

Meanwhile, a ballistic missile launched by the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen, aimed for Israel’s southernmost city of Eilat, was intercepted by the newly-developed Israeli “Chetz” (Arrow) air defense system. Citizens of Eilat reported hearing the loud sound of the blast.

As reprisal for Israeli’s downing their ‘Aerial target,’ Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi leader bragged of a ‘large number’ of drones and ballistic missiles that would hit Israel on Tuesday, and that there would be more, until ‘Israeli aggression’ stopped.

Israel announced that two ‘Hostile targets’ believed to be drones were flying in the Red Sea area Tuesday morning and were intercepted outside of Israeli territory.

In a video showing missiles from Houthis in Yemen toward Israel’s southern city of Eilat, one of the operatives can be heard proclaiming, “Death to America, death to Israel, victory for Islam.”

Let God arise, and His enemies be scattered, let those also who hate Him flee before Him. As smoke is driven away, So drive them away. As wax melts before the fire, So let the wicked perish at the presence of God. Psalm 68:1-2

It is evident that Israel is surrounded by relentless enemies whose goal is to annihilate her. As believers, we know that behind the physical enemies is the spiritual enemy of the Most High God – satan. Satan’s plan was and is to destroy the Jewish people and Israel, thereby preventing Yeshua’s return to Jerusalem, Israel’s capital.

Yet, the Lord’s plans and purposes prevail and His Word never fails.

Then ‘all of Israel shall be saved…their acceptance be life from the dead.” It will be life from the dead for the world. Romans 11:26,13

“… My people Israel…I will plant them in their land. And no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them.” Amos 9:14-15

Hamas, the ruling organization in the Gaza Strip, is a cruel, violent anti-Zionist, anti-Semitic, Islamist terror group that seeks to destroy Israel. As a result of constant attacks on Israeli civilians, Israel and dozens of countries have designated Hamas a terrorist organization. Israel and “The Quartet on the Middle East” (US, Russia, UN, EU) imposed economic sanctions on Hamas and Gaza, including the cessation of foreign aid to the Hamas government, as well as restrictions on movement, imposed by Israel.

To lift these economic sanctions and movement restrictions, Hamas must: renounce violence against Israel, recognize Israel, and honor all previous agreements between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

However, Hamas has not, and will not, recognize Israel as the legitimate State of the Jews in the Land of Israel.

Iran has been providing Hamas and the other terror organizations in Gaza with material and financial support as well as military training, and Turkey reportedly harbors some of its top leaders.

The death toll of Israelis killed by Hamas’ brutal attack on innocent Israeli civilians on Oct. 7, is as of now at least 1,400 Israelis. The attack from Gaza included the firing of thousands of rockets on Israel and the infiltration of Israeli cities and communities near the Gazan border by more than 2,500 terrorists who butchered and tortured men, women, children, and infants, cutting babies’ throats and burning children alive. They shot parents in front of their children, and children in front of their parents.

Hamas has abducted more than 160 Israelis into Gaza. Hamas raped a young woman over and over again and may have even killed some.

Israel has responded by bombing Hamas facilities, targeting their leaders and those responsible for the brutal attack on Israel.

Israeli leaders vow that this war’s target is the elimination of Hamas once and for all. More than 300,000 Israeli military troops are waiting near the Gazan border to enter the Strip in order to achieve Israel’s goal.

However, the longer Israel waits, the more difficult the task becomes. Now, Israel is waiting for the end of Biden’s visit in order to act upon her military plans and objectives.

On this 11th day of the war, as President Biden has just arrived in Israel, new developments may change his and Israel’s plans.

His original plan was to force Israel to allow supplies for “Humanitarian aid” to enter Gaza. His help and support of Israel is mixed with his ultimate plan/desire to bring about the establishment of a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria and the Gaza Strip after the elimination of Hamas.

After meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Biden was to have a summit meeting with Jordanian King Abdullah, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas, to further his plan of the “Two State solution.”

However, a new development on the ground has occurred. A Gazen hospital was hit by a rocket last night. According to multiple Israeli intelligence sources, a failed Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) rocket launch, aimed at Israel, hit the Gaza hospital killing, allegedly, hundreds of Palestinians.

“We have indication that the PIJ organization is responsible for the failed launch that hit the hospital,” stated IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari. “An analysis of IDF operational systems indicates that a barrage of rockets was fired by terrorists in Gaza, passing in close proximity to the hospital at the time it was hit,” Hagari added.

“The entire world should know: It was not the Israeli army that attacked the hospital in Gaza, but the barbaric Gazan terrorists,” wrote Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “Those who brutally murdered our children also murder their own children.”

For years, terrorists have been using Gazan hospitals, mosques, schools, residential buildings, and other public buildings as caches for their weapons and missile launchers.

Hamas uses its population – children included – as human shields, knowing that Israeli reprisals on residential facilities will convince the world of Israel’s inhumane assaults on “innocent civilians,” thereby causing a worldly outcry against Israel to abandon her goal of eliminating the terrorists, while hundreds of missiles continue to hit Israel, targeting Israeli civilians.

Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas has canceled the planned meeting summit with Biden and the Arab leaders scheduled for today, Wednesday.

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ advisor Mahmoud Al-Habbash has declared that Hamas’ massacre against Israeli civilians last Saturday is considered legitimate self-defense: “We are enacting our legitimate right in resisting these invaders (the Zionists) defending ourselves, and defending our holy sites and our people… This occupation is temporary. Regardless of how long it takes, and regardless of how many sacrifices there will be, this occupation will leave sooner or later.”

Under Palestinian Authority law, every terrorist who is killed attacking Israel is defined as a “Martyr” whose family is immediately rewarded by the PA with a 6,000 shekels ($1,511) grant and a 1,400 ($353) per month allowance for life.

We are praying and standing on the Word of the God of Israel.

Amos 1:6-7 NKJ: “Thus says the Lord: “For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment, Because they took captive the whole captivity (communities)… But I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza, which shall devour its palaces.”

Zechariah 9:5: “Gaza will writhe in agony…for her hope will wither. Gaza will lose her king (leader.) Vs. 7: I will take the blood from their mouths, the forbidden food from between their teeth. Those who are left will belong to our God.

Proverbs 19:21: “There are many plans (devices) in a man’s heart. Nevertheless, the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.” (men can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose and plans will prevail.)

BREAKING NEWS – PLEASE PRAY!

The massacres against Israeli citizens by Palestinian terrorists continue. Since the September 1993 Oslo agreements that Israel hoped would lead to lasting peace until September 2000, nearly 300 Israelis were murdered in terrorist attacks. Since September 2000, Palestinian terrorists murdered another 1,403 Israelis.

Last Friday night, at least seven innocent Jewish citizens were shot dead at close rage with a handgun outside an East Jerusalem synagogue by a 21-year-old Arab Palestinian from E. Jerusalem.

The attack took place on international Holocaust Memorial Day, which is dedicated to the memory of the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis in the Holocaust. The Israeli police called the attack a slaughter of innocent Jewish civilians. The Jews were observing the holy day of Shabbat.
After his shooting spree at innocent Israelis, the terrorist fled the scene. When Israeli security personnel intercepted him, he tried shooting at them, but they neutralized him.

The very next day – Saturday morning, a 13-year-old Arab boy from E. Jerusalem opened fire on people visiting the City of David. A father and son were seriously injured. Others were injured as well. The shooter was neutralized.

Terror Attacks Since 2015 – a History

We ask for prayer against terror attacks especially during the holidays. Here is a partial history. So far this year (2022) 312 significant terror attacks were foiled and 2,110 arrests have been made. Operation Break the Wave has been instrumental in this effort.

The following is a list of major terror attacks against Israelis since September 13, 2015, the eve of Rosh Hashanah. This is a partial list that does not include most of the daily instances of riots, rock-throwing and Molotov cocktails in which no one was hurt.

2022

July 2022
135 terror attacks. Of these, 113 attacks took place in Judea and Samaria, 120 in Jerusalem and the Green Line and 2 in the Gaza Strip.

Three Israeli citizens were injured in the attacks, there were no fatalities:

  • July 5th, an Israeli man was stabbed in Givat Shaul.
  • July 15th, a Jewish woman was injured in a stone-throwing attack in Samaria.
  • July 19th, an Israeli man was wounded in a stabbing attack in Jerusalem.

The attacks included 1 stone-throwing incident, 75 firebomb attacks, 27 pipe bomb attacks and 15 incidents of small-arms fire. There were also 12 arson attacks and 2 assaults.

June 2022
189 terror attacks. 147 attacks took place in Judea and Samaria, 41 in Jerusalem and the Green Line and 1 from the Gaza Strip. The attacks included 2 assaults with knives, 117 firebomb attacks and 42 pipe bomb attacks. There were also 11 incidents of small-arms fire and 16 arson attacks.

Three civilians were injured in a shooting attack at Joseph’s Tomb on June 30th.

May 2022
208 terror attacks. Of these, 171 originated in Judea and Samaria and 37 in Jerusalem and the Green Line area. No terrorist attacks originated in the Gaza Strip. 

Four people were killed in the May attacks; an additional six were injured:

  • May 5th, Three people were killed and two others wounded in a stabbing assault in Elad.
  • May 13th, an Israeli security force officer was killed in a shooting in Burqin (Palestinian town in north Samaria).
  • May 8th, an Israeli security force officer was injured in a stabbing attack at the Damascus Gate in E. Jerusalem.
  • May 24th, Three Israelis were wounded (two moderately, another sustained minor injuries) from stone-throwing near Huwara, a Palestinian town in north Samaria.

April 2022
268 terror attacks. Of these, 217 originated in Judea and Samaria, 42 in Jerusalem and the Green Line area and 9 in the Gaza Strip.

  • April 7th, three Israeli civilians were killed and six injured in a shooting attack in Tel Aviv.
  • April 29th, an Israeli civilian was killed in a shooting attack in Ariel.
  • April 10th, an Israeli security forces officer was injured in a stabbing attack at the Tomb of the Patriarchs.
  • April 11th, two Israeli civilians were injured in a shooting attack at Joseph’s Tomb.
  • April 12th, an Israeli security forces officer was injured in a stabbing attack in Ashkelon.
  • April 15th, an Israeli civilian was injured in a stabbing attack in Haifa.

The attacks in April included 187 firebomb attacks, 35 pipe bomb attacks, 17 attacks using small firearms, 11 arson attacks and 2 assaults.

March 2022:
190 terror attacks. 11 people were killed (two young Israel Border Police officers, 2 Ukrainian nationalist and 7 Israeli citizens) 27 were injured.

February 2022:
187 terror attacks. An Israeli civilian and a member of the security forces were injured.

January 2022:
141 terror attacks. An Israeli civilian and a member of the security forces were injured.

2015-2021 Attacks

Since the beginning of the wave of Palestinian terrorism that started in October 2015, there were 620 attacks (483 in the form of firebombs) in one month. Eleven people (one foreign national and 10 Israelis) were killed that month and 80 were injured, 37 of them moderately or more severely (one foreign national, 18 Israeli civilians, and 18 members of the security forces).

2015

November 2015, 10 people (one Palestinian and 9 Israelis) were killed in terrorist attacks. Among the non-fatal casualties, 22 were wounded in stabbings (including 5 in Jerusalem and 10 within Israel), 24 in vehicle attacks, and 12 in shootings.

December 2015, 3 civilians were killed. All three of the fatalities were caused by stabbings.

2016

January 2016, 5 Israelis were killed in terrorist attacks. In the major shooting attack in Tel Aviv two civilians were killed in stabbing attack.

February 2016, 3 Israelis were killed in Arab terrorist attacks. In March 2016, terrorists killed one foreign national in a stabbing attack in Jaffa and injured 26, 9 of which were injured in the abovementioned stabbing attack.( Among the non-fatal casualties, 13 civilians and 13 security forces personnel were wounded.

April 2016, Arab terrorist attacks caused 18 non-fatal casualties, most of which (16) were injured in an IED (Improvised Explosive Devices) attack in Jerusalem on 18 April. In addition, on 3 April, one civilian was injured in a stabbing attack in Rosh HaAyin and one border-police member was injured in a firebomb attack in Isawiya (Jerusalem neighborhood).

May 2016, terrorist attacks did not result in any fatalities. However, 12 Israelis – 4 civilians and 8 security personnel – were injured.

June 2016, five Israelis were killed and 21 injured. Most of the fatalities were registered during the shooting in Tel Aviv on 8 June that left four dead and 15 wounded. An Israeli teenager was stabbed to death on 30 June in the Jewish neighborhood in Hebron, and another civilian was moderately injured. On June 24, 2 civilians were injured in a vehicle-ramming attack near Hebron; a member of the security forces in a firebomb attack in north Jerusalem, (29 June); 2 civilians in a stabbing attack in the Israeli city of Netanya on 30 June.

July 2016: 316 terrorist attacks; 1 person murdered and 17 injured. There were 6 stabbings or attempted stabbings, 6 shooting attacks, 1 ramming attack, 8 pipe/roadside bombs, 231 stone-throwing incidents, 51 petrol bombs. Several attacks occurred in Jerusalem; the rest in Judea and Samaria.

August 2016: 414 total attacks caused by an increase of stone-throwing (339 in number) 5 stabbings, 3 shooting, 9 pipe/roadside bombs, 34 Molotov cocktails bombs.

September 2016: 480 total attacks: 14 stabbings or attempted stabbings; 3 shootings; 1 ramming attack, 11 roadside bombs/grenades; 365 stone-throwing attacks, 63 Molotov cocktails.

October 2016: 410 total attacks: 6 stabbings or attempted stabbings; 10 shootings; 1 ramming attack, 10 roadside bombs/grenades; 265 stone-throwing attacks, 71 Molotov cocktails.

November 2016: 423 total attacks (mostly stone-throwing): 5 stabbings or attempted stabbings; 2 shootings; 0 ramming attacks, 12 roadside bombs/grenades; 346 stone-throwing attacks, 41 Molotov cocktails.

December 2016: 258 total attacks; 6 stabbings or attempted stabbings; 8 shootings; 1 ramming attack, 5 roadside bombs/grenades; 199 stone-throwing attacks, 27 Molotov cocktails.

2017

January 2017: 3 stabbings or attempted stabbings; 9 shootings; 2 ramming attacks, 9 roadside bombs/grenades; 293 stone-throwing attacks, 44 Molotov cocktails.

February 2017: 1 stabbing or attempted stabbing; 5 shootings; 1 ramming attack, 7 roadside bombs/grenades; 260 stone-throwing attacks, 53 Molotov cocktails.

March 2017: 10 stabbings or attempted stabbings; 3 shootings; 1 ramming attack, 2 roadside bombs/grenades; 243 stone-throwing attacks, 62 Molotov cocktails.

April 2017: 7 stabbings or attempted stabbings; 5 shootings; 2 ramming attacks, 4 roadside bombs/grenades; 218 stone-throwing attacks, 40 Molotov cocktails.

August 2017: 3 stabbings/attempted stabbings; 7 roadside bombs/grenades; 128 stone-throwing attacks, 23 Molotov cocktails; 1 shooting; no ramming attacks.

September 2017: 1 stabbing/attempted stabbing; 5 roadside bombs/grenades; 135 stone-throwing attacks, 27 Molotov cocktails; 1 shooting; no ramming attacks.

October 2017: 3 stabbing/attempted stabbings; 4 roadside bombs/grenades; 170 stone-throwing attacks, 32 Molotov cocktails; 2 shootings; no ramming attacks.

November 2017: 2 stabbing/attempted stabbings; 1 roadside bomb/grenade; 207 stone-throwing attacks, 25 Molotov cocktails; 1 shooting; no ramming attacks.

December 2017: 3 stabbings/attempted stabbings; 9 roadside bomb/grenade; 478 stone-throwing attacks, 111 Molotov cocktails; 3 shooting; no ramming attacks.

2018

January 2018: Terrorist events –Total 332: resulting in one murder and 16 injured. The incidents included 2 stabbings/attempted stabbings; 2 shootings; 1 ramming attack; 4 roadside bombs; 251 stone-throwing attacks; 45 Molotov cocktails.

February 2018: Terrorist events –Total 384: 4 stabbings/attempted stabbings; 2 shootings; 4 roadside bombs; 283 stone-throwing; 49 Molotov cocktails.

March 2018: Terrorist events –Total 300: 2 stabbings/attempted stabbings; 6 shootings; 3 roadside bombs; 240 stone-throwing; 24 Molotov cocktails, 2 ramming attacks.

April 2018: Terrorist events –Total 386: 1 stabbing/attempted stabbing; 4 shootings; 17 roadside bombs; 216 stone-throwing; 33 Molotov cocktails, 0 ramming attacks.

May 2018: Terrorist events – Total 684 (including 190 rockets/mortar bombs): 10 shooting attacks, 2 attempted ramming attacks, 15 roadside bombs, 251 stone-throwing events; 134 fire kites.

June 2018: In Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria – Total 94 attacks: 14 IEDs; two small-arms shootings; 77 firebomb attacks; and one vehicular attack.
Gaza: 29 rocket-launching* attacks (with 76 launches).

July 2018: Terrorist events – 2 killed, 17 injured; 1 stabbing/attempted stabbing; 5 shooting attacks, 0 ramming attacks, 9 roadside bombs, 118 stone-throwing events; 202 arson terror events.

August 2018: Terrorist events: 24 injured; 1 stabbing/attempted stabbing; 2 shooting attacks, 0 ramming attacks, 10 roadside bombs, 125 stone-throwing events; 99 arson terror events (includes petrol bombs and incendiary kites/balloons).

September 2018: Terrorist events: 1 killed, 10 injured; 4 stabbing/attempted stabbing; 2 shooting attacks, 0 ramming attacks, 17 roadside bombs, 128 stone-throwing; 120 arson terror and petrol bombs.

October 2018: Terrorist events: 2 killed, 18 injured; 4 stabbing/attempted stabbing; 1 shooting attack, 0 ramming attacks, 19 roadside bombs, 138 stone-throwing; 139 arson terror and petrol bombs.

November 2018: Terrorist events: 2 killed, 12 injured; 4 stabbing/attempted stabbing; 5 shooting attacks, 1 ramming attack, 8 roadside bombs, 178 stone-throwing; 42 arson terror and petrol bombs.

December 2018: Terrorist events: 3 killed, 28 injured; 3 stabbing/attempted stabbing; 3 shooting attacks, 4 ramming attack, 8 roadside bombs, 270 stone-throwing; 30 arson terror and petrol bombs.

2019

January 2019: Terrorist events: 13 injured; 3 stabbings/attempted stabbings; 4 shooting attacks; 19 roadside bombs; 145 stone-throwings; 30 arson terror events.

February 2019: Terrorist events: 1 killed, 6 injured; 1 stabbing/attempted stabbing; 20 roadside bombs; 129 stone-throwing events; 35 arson terror events.

March 2019: Terrorist events: 2 killed, 24 injured; 2 stabbing/attempted stabbings; 1 shooting (together with stabbing); 1 ramming attack; 36 IEDs; 126 stone-throwing events; 55 arson terror events.

April 2019: April 2019 saw a significant drop in the number of terrorist attacks, compared to March: 126, as opposed to 308.

In Judea and Samaria, 88 attacks were executed in April, compared to 110 in March. 12 attacks took place in Jerusalem, as opposed to 15 in the preceding month. 

No attacks were executed within the Green Line in April, similarly to March. Finally, 26 attacks originated from the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula in April, down dramatically from 181 in March. 

There were no casualties from terrorist activity in April 2019.

May 2019: May 2019 saw a dramatic increase in the number of terrorist attacks, compared to April: 449, as opposed to 126. Out of these 449 attacks, 362 were instances of rocket fire from the Gaza Strip in the latest round of fighting. 

389 attacks originated from the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula in May, up from 26 in April. In Judea and Samaria, 50 attacks were executed in May, compared to 88 in April. 10 attacks took place in Jerusalem, as opposed to 12 in the preceding month. Finally, no attacks were executed within the Green Line in May, similarly to April. 

Four people were killed and ten were injured due to terrorist activity in May 2019.

June 2019: June 2019 saw a significant drop in the number of terrorist attacks, compared to May: 123, as opposed to 449. 

42 attacks originated from the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula in June, down dramatically from 389 in May. In Judea and Samaria, 63 attacks were executed, compared to 50 in May. 18 attacks took place in Jerusalem, as opposed to ten in the preceding month. Finally, no attacks were executed within the Green Line (Israel prober,) similarly to May.

There were no casualties from terrorist activity in June 2019.

July 2019: Five non-fatal casualties and no fatalities from terror attacks in July.

Five members of the security forces were wounded in a vehicle attack at the Hizme checkpoint in Binyamin (Judea.)

August 2019: Two people were killed and eight injured in terrorist attacks in August 2019.

September 2019: Seven people were injured (no fatalities) in terrorist attack.

October 2019: Two non-fatal civilian casualties and no fatalities from terror There were 108 attacks in Judea and Samaria. 

November 2019: Eleven non-fatal casualties, no fatalities. Overall, there were 159 attacks in Judea and Samaria.)

December 2019: There were 106 attacks in Judea and Samaria and Jerusalem. There were no casualties.

2020

January 2020: There were 225 terror attacks. There were three non-fatal casualties and no fatalities.

February 2020: There were 161 terror attacks from the Gaza Strip including 127 instances of shelling (rockets and mortars). 171 terror attacks were carried out in Jerusalem and the West Bank. There were 16 non-fatal casualties and no fatalities.

March 2020: There were two rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip during March. 87 terror attacks were carried out in Jerusalem and the West Bank. Of these, 79 were bomb attacks (Firebombs and pipe bombs.) There were 5 non-fatal casualties and no fatalities.

April 2020: There was a single incident of small-arms fire from the Gaza Strip. 71 terror attacks were carried out in Jerusalem and the West Bank. Of these, 66 were bomb attacks (Firebombs and pipe bombs.) There were 4 non-fatal casualties and no fatalities.

May 2020: A single rocket was launched from the Gaza Strip into Israel. 80 terrorist attacks were carried out in Jerusalem and the West Bank. Of these, 66 were firebombs. There were also two knifing attacks. There were two casualties, one of which was a fatality.

June 2020: Four rockets and one mortar were launched from the Gaza Strip. 91 Terror attacks took place in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria. Of these, 70 were firebomb attacks. There were also 12 cases of arson and two stabbings. Three people were injured in the terror attacks; there were no fatalities.

July 2020: Two rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip and a total of 92 terror attacks took place in Jerusalem and the West Bank. Of these, 61 were firebomb attacks and 14 were pipe bomb attacks. There were no casualties or fatalities in July.

August 2020: 120 terror attacks, compared to 94 in the previous month. A civilian was killed in a stabbing attack in Petah Tikva (a city in Israel), 6 others were wounded. 106 terror attacks took place in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria.) Of these, 85 were firebomb attacks, 6 pipe bomb attacks. There were also two terror attacks using firearms. 25 rockets were launched at Israel from the Gaza Strip, 5 incidents of small arms fire and one IED.

September 2020: 100 terror attacks. There were no fatalities, although five people were injured, including two members of the security forces. The three civilians were injured by rocket fire from Gaza into Ashdod.

86 terror attacks took place in Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria. Of these, 70 were firebomb attacks. There was one stabbing attack, one vehicular attack and eight arson attacks. Six rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip into Israel; there were also seven firebomb attacks.

October 2020: 124 terror attacks. No fatalities resulted from these attacks, but two members of the security forces were injured in a pipe bomb explosion in Nablus. 117 attacks took place in Jerusalem and the West Bank in October. Of these, there were 95 incidents of firebombing, 14 of pipe bombing and six arson attempts. Of the seven attacks emanating from the Gaza Strip, four were rocket attacks.

November 2020: 83 terror attacks. There were no fatalities or casualties.

December 2020: 98 terror attacks. There was one fatality: An Israeli citizen was killed in an assault near the settlement Tal Menashe in Judea on December 20th. In addition, a member of the security forces sustained slight injuries in a firebomb attack in Issawiya on December 15th.

2021

January 2021: 131 terror attacks, with one person injured and no fatalities

February 2021: 92 terror attacks. One person was injured and there were no fatalities.

March 2021: 89 terror attacks, resulting in 5 non-fatal casualties and no fatalities.

April 2021: 130 terror attacks took place in April; there were no fatalities or casualties.

May 2021: Approximately 4500 rockets were launched from Gaza, targeting Israeli civilian facilities in cities, towns and villages. Major cities were also targeted, including Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. A total of fifteen people were killed in terror-related incidents during May; of these, thirteen were directly related to the rocket arracks from Gaza. In addition, there were 168 non-fatal injuries during the round of fighting and other terror incidents.

June 2021: 185 terror attacks. Of these, 37 originated in the Gaza Strip. The attacks resulted in one non-fatal casualty.

July 2021: 142 terror attacks. These resulted in two non-fatal casualties; there were no fatalities.

August 2021: 142 terror attacks. One member of the security forces was killed in a shooting attack from the Gaza Strip on August 30th, a civilian was moderately injured in a stone-throwing attack in Binyamin on August 31st.

September 2021: 251 terror attacks. These resulted in no fatalities and six non-fatal casualties.

October 2021: 159 terror attacks. One person was injured, there were no fatalities.

November 2021: 142 terror attacks. One Israeli and eight others were injured.

December 2021: 137 terror attacks. One Israeli civilian was killed and six others were injured.
